VbE Quality Mark Accreditation

Meritton received full accreditation from Values-based Education Quality Mark in June 2023. Ourleaders Khun Fon, Mr. Gary, and Khun Be celebrate the award of our Values-based Education Quality Mark accreditation. We are delighted to be the first school in Thailand to achieve the award. Deepest thanks to our school community for your support in reaching this important milestone.

This award acknowledges our school community’s achievement in promoting the equal importance our school community places on the academic development of young learners and the values they grow up with. We deeply appreciate the support of all parents and carers in arriving at this important point in our values journey.

While thousands of schools around the world now practice VbE at the core of their work, Meritton now joins just over 100 schools globally, and is the first in Thailand, to be awarded the VbE Quality Mark. Our award follows an audit at the end of last term by an assessor from VbE International who was impressed with the overwhelming evidence of the impact of values in our school. To quote the assessor, the evidence:

“…shows an overwhelming commitment to providing an outstanding Values-based Education (VbE) that nurtures joyful, caring, and successful school community members at all levels”.

The Quality Mark assessor, a highly respected educator, consultant and advisor to governments, reserved her highest praise for K. Be and K. Fon, the co-founders of the school:

“The Co-Founders set out to establish a school that uniquely integrated academic excellence and a discreet VbE programme. This approach is pioneering, demonstrating tremendous courage and
commitment to the belief that VbE holds the key to a successful life.”

We have a clear vision for our continuing values journey. This includes a deeper weaving of values in our curriculum, based on deeper understanding and leading practices. Other priorities in the coming year are intensified engagement with our school community, partner schools’ collaborations, and serving as a resource centre for schools in the region starting their own values journey. Congratulations to our entire team, whose team-work and dedication to Values-based Education continues to be focused on better outcomes for our children through values.
